Java/SWT, Python/wxWidgets, C++/Qt, all cross-platform. But I bet I could also write a 3 front-ends in the same time as 1 web app.

TrackPoint inventor (Ted Selker) said tests have shown it's 20% faster than the touchpad. I'd love to see the published results.
